Features

Why use Text to Confluence Editor?

Fully separate writing from formatting, so you can focus on the product definition itself.

Two-Way Conversion

Convert document content, plain text, or Markdown to Confluence rich text — and parse Confluence content back into structured text. A complete two-way loop.

Live Split Preview

Edit on the left and see Confluence styles rendered on the right in milliseconds. What you see is what you get — no more paste-and-check loops.

Smart Plain-Text Recognition

Headings, chapter numbers, key-value pairs, and tables copied from documents are automatically structured, turning rough docs into a spec-ready PRD.

Rich-Text Paste Parsing

Paste content copied straight from Confluence and it converts back to Markdown automatically — sync platform edits to your local draft with ease.

Pixel-Perfect Formatting

Grey centered headers, red emphasis, H1–H4 heading levels, strikethrough, and links all survive the trip back to Confluence.

Offline & Private

A pure front-end, single-file tool. No install, works without internet. Your documents stay in your browser and never leave your device.

FAQ

What do users ask about Text to Confluence Editor?

Everything you might want to know about Doc to Confluence Editor.

Is this tool free?
Completely free. It is a pure front-end, single-file tool with no subscription, no feature limits, and no ads — just open and use it.
Is my PRD data safe?
Yes — your PRD stays private, and no content is uploaded. The tool runs entirely in your browser, with documents stored only in your browser’s localStorage and never sent to a server.
Why is formatting preserved when I paste into Confluence?
When you copy, we use the Clipboard API to write Confluence-compliant HTML (confluenceTable classes, grey-header attributes, inline red styles) to your clipboard. The Confluence editor recognizes these markers, so heading levels, table styles, and red emphasis all carry over.
Can I upload .docx / Word files directly?
Direct file upload is on the roadmap. For now, copy the content from Word, Google Docs, or any document and paste it into the left pane — headings, tables, and lists are detected and structured automatically.
I edited on Confluence — how do I sync back to my local draft?
Just copy the rich text from your Confluence page and paste it into the left pane. The tool detects the rich text and parses it back into structured Markdown — headings, tables, and red text all restored.
Do I need to install anything or be online? Which browsers are supported?
No install needed — just double-click the HTML file to open it in a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari). It works fully offline. Only “Copy Rich Text” requires Clipboard API support, which all modern browsers have.
How do I enter red text and special formatting?
Wrap text in {red}...{red} to render Confluence red text — perfect for TBD items and change notes. The first table row automatically becomes a grey centered header, and ~~text~~ produces strikethrough.
